Silene Trio

Flute, English horn and guitar, a particular and fascinating ensemble with a repertoire that Trio Silene proposed itself to study and spread.

The Trio is formed by female musicians who boast artistic curricula which include the participation in important training courses, prizes won in prestigious contests and a noticeable concert activity

The ensemble was created in 1994 by Paola Selva, who asks flute player Daniela Brussolo and oboe and English horn player Angela Cavallo join the Trio; since then Trio Silene gained relevant success (the first prize in the 21st National Contest "Comune di Roburent - sac. m.o G. B. Ansaldi" and the first prize in the 9th International Chamber Music Competition "Premio Acqui Musica" in 1997, the absolute first prize in the 4th National Competition "Giulio Rospigliosi" in Lamporecchio in 1998, the second prize in the International Musical Interpretation Competition “Giulio Viozzi” in Trieste in 2000 and the first prize in the 6th Guitar Festival “Città di Voghera” in 2001.
The members of Trio Silene have been members of juries of many national and international competitions.

The research of scores destined or suitable for this unusual ensemble lead Trio Silene to work with important Italian and foreigner composers, who wrote music for them specifically.

The repertoire proposed by Trio Silene embraces more or less three centuries of music history and includes original works, transcriptions and instrumental adaptations, often produced by the Trio itself.
